The CCSD will host a national speaker named Tim Shoemaker to present to our 6th-12th grade students on Monday, January 22nd. Tim will share his message on the dangers of teen vaping as a means to educate our students & raise awareness on the national health crisis created from vaping. Students will transition for two morning presentations taking place at Langdale Auditorium for students from both Valley High & W.F. Burns Middle. Two additional presentations will take place at the LaFayette High Auditorium for LHS & J.P. Powell students. Finally, a community presentation is planned on Tuesday, January 23rd at the Auburn University Student Activities Auditorium at 6 p.m. CST. Our goal is to reach as many people as possible & raise awareness to this critical issue our youth are facing. We hope our parents & community members will join us for the presentation on January 23rd at Auburn. If we can save one student from a lifetime of vaping addiction, we have accomplished our mission. Informational flyers are attached as well as the web address for Tim at www.timothyshoemaker.com

The CCSD will delay the start of school on Wednesday, January 17th by 2 hours. All schools will start 2 hours later. This step was taken due to the hard freeze warning & extreme temps as low as 13 degrees projected. The delay will make it safer for bus travel & students to get to school. Please stay safe.
